Nathan Cool, Technologist
Nathan Cool is a technology specialist with over 30 years of software engineering and system architecture experience. With a concentration on modern, large-scale distributed and cloud based systems, Nathan has designed and developed technical solutions for Kia Motors America, the National Weather Service, WebMD Business Solutions, Spirent Communications, and Zya Music. Along with being hands-on, Nathan has led domestic and international information technology teams with a reputation for high-quality, secure, on-time deliverables.
Centric to science, Nathan has also been an ocean-weather forecaster for more than 20 years, contracted most recently by Surfer and Surfing magazines. Combining his skills in environmental and computer sciences, Nathan has written automated wave and weather prediction software, is a regular lecturer at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, has written books on climate change and surf forecasting, and has been featured in a number of periodicals including LA Magazine, the Los Angeles Daily News, the Los Angeles Times, the Ventura County Star, the Santa Barbara Independent, and the Santa Cruz Sentinel.
Passionate about combining art with technology, Nathan is also an avid photographer and currently resides in Newbury Park, CA.
